Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I've always heard video productions are expensive, more than $1000 per produced minute. How can you do it for so much less?

A. Most production houses break up responsibility for different aspects of the production and assign them to different personnel. At MediaMax, our principal, Mark Huffman, provides all these functions - from writing, to shooting, to narration. And he is a seasoned pro in all aspects. Therefore, we do not carry the cost of a large staff, or a stable of subcontractors.

Q. So, how much less than the prevailing rate are we talking about here?

A. Well, if you want to produce a short training video and are going to appear on camera to provide the content, the entire project could be under $1000. The simpler the production, the lower the cost. But even the most complex productions are usually 50% of the average video production house.

Q. How will my video be displayed on my Web site?

A. We'll provide it to you anyway you want, but the final decision is up to you and your Webmaster. If you like, you can have visitors click on a link to view your video, or we can embed it into the page. We will upload your video to YouTube if you like, giving it even wider exposure. Or, if you prefer, we can create a flash player for you and host the file on our server. At any rate, we'll consult with you every step of the way and help you do whatever you decide to do.

Q. What kind of equipment do you use?

A. We use professional video gear. Our camera is a Sony DV CAM model favored by some news crews for its quality, reliability, and durability.

Q. Is there someplace where I can see an example of your work?

A. Yes, check the front page of this Web site to see a current example we are featuring.

Q. OK, I'd like to explore this further. How do we get started?

A. Just call 804-456-0052 or send an email so we can discuss your project and answer any other questions.
